Braves,
The outdoor season is here and we excited to get started. We were able to accomplish some good things as a team this winter in our indoor track season, but the best is yet to come. Just a few things to know before we begin next week.
We will be meeting for the first time this season on Monday, February 29th in the Library. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come. Invite your friends to come with you - the more the merrier. We have an awesome staff of coaches who will be working with us this year and we look forward to working with you all. Coaches Magalei, Jacobson, Munk, Wiley, and Kason will be with us.
The first practice will be Tuesday, March 1st so come prepared and ready to work out on the track. Unlike during the indoor season we will be meeting at 2:30.
We can have a successful season if we come with a positive attitude, ready to work hard. Let's have some fun this season as we work to improve.

2/21 update
Braves,
We had a successful short week and we were able to get outside on the track. That in itself is reason to celebrate. We can only hope that this warmer weather stays with us so we can continue to get quality work in on the track and on the hills.
A small group went up to the Simplot Games at Idaho State University this weekend and it was a successful and fun trip. I appreciate the guys who went for behaving well and competing with heart. We had a heavy race load for all five guys, but they all competed with everything they had. I hope that this trip continues to grow in the future so that more athletes can experience that environment, track, and team experience. Thank you to Bridger, Marsaylis, Noah, Hunter, and Marcus.
This week will be a good one leading into the outdoor season. I want to make this week one where we can get rest for some heavy legs, avoid impact on the legs, yet still increase strength. Here is what is planned: Monday we will go to the weight room as a team. Tuesday no practice. Wednesday we will do plyos (very limited running). Thursday we will do blocks and some hurdles. Friday no practice. Plan on meeting tomorrow at 2:45. Don't worry if you are inexperienced in the weight room. I will walk you through the techniques so there are no injuries.
I appreciate you all and for the work you have done this winter. Winter can be the most difficult time to motivate yourself (considering the cold and the lack of sunlight - both of which affect mood). Let's make this spring awesome together.

2/7 Super Bowl Day update
Braves,
We had a very productive off week. We had some good workouts in the halls and on the hills that was capped off with a pretty wild (and a little reckless) N64 challenge on Friday. It was a pretty fun event, and we're lucky no one got hurt by the table that crashed to the ground - the investigation is still pending on whose fault that was... probably mine. Thanks to MJ for saving the game system and my projector.
This week will be our last heavy week leading up to the Simplot Games next week, and then the outdoor season. Those who were invited to Simplot, please return your paper tomorrow with the events that you are interested in competing in, so we can make final decisions on who will be able to go.
This Friday is the distance challenge at the olympic oval. They compete the 400, 800, 1600, and 3200. I am not exactly sure the order of events yet, but I will send that information out either tomorrow or Tuesday. Let's make sure we do what we need to in the classroom, at practice, and away from the school in order to be successful in all our endeavors.
I appreciate the hard work we have been putting in as a team, let's keep it going, continue to have fun and improve.
Let's go Braves!
