Braves,
We’ve had a strong first two weeks of the season. It’s been
great to see so many of you at practice each day, and the energy that you have
brought every day. We have very little training days before our first race, so
we need to use our time wisely. You can see the meet schedule on our website www.bravestrack.blogspot.com As
I have said, and will continue to say, we must focus on getting a little better
every day. Improvement doesn’t just happen, it comes from effort, and by
design. If we don’t intentionally work to improve each day, then we will be
stagnant, which is a very unsatisfying way to live, and a recipe for a poor
team. We must habitually get better every day.
This final week of school of 2018 will end on Thursday, and
we will practice only Monday-Wednesday, with no practice on Thursday, which is
an early out. We will be meeting twice over the winter break for all those who
are able to come and fit it into your schedule. I know you will all have plenty
going on so we will try and keep those practices brief, and yet worth your
time. Because we want to meet twice, we will be practicing this coming Friday
at 8 AM, and the following Thursday at 8 AM. Talk to your event coaches about what
other workouts you should be doing on days that we don’t meet together as a
team.
We are going to order socks for all who are interested, I
sent an email about it on Friday. They will be red with our B feather logo on
the back (basic design pics in the email last Friday). If you would like to
order them they are $15, which needs to be paid in the office (tell them track
apparel) with the receipt in my box by TUESDAY.
If you haven’t yet, and if you haven’t already talked to me
about it, please pay the $50 participation fee for indoor track in the office
this week. Thank you to all those who have already done so.
