Hello Parents and Athletes!
We are less than 1 month out from the start of the outdoor track season. Time has been flying by! We have a few indoor meets left before we get there, but there are a few items of business that need to be addressed to get prepared for the outdoor season.
If your student is planning on competing in the outdoor season, they will need to complete Register My Athlete and have an updated physical. Physicals are good for one year, but if you need to get a new physical done, start planning to meet with your doctor. The last thing we want to happen is to cut someone from the team because they are not officially registered.
Along with the Register My Athlete registration, there will be a track fee to be paid online through myDSD or in the office. We will be sending out a cost breakdown once it has been approved by the district. If you have any questions please feel free to contact myself or Coach Conner.
Term 3 grades will dictate your eligibility for the outdoor season. You are allowed ONE “F” and must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Multiple “F”s or a GPA lower than 2.0 will result in an automatic cut from the team. All citizenship “U”s must be cleared to compete. Coaches have an updated list of who has multiple “F”s and “U”s if you have any questions. Both can also be viewed on your Graduation Summary on myDSD.
Once registration, fees, and grades are completed, we will start handing out jerseys. If you ran track last year or competed in cross country, you will keep the same jersey. If you are new to the team, coaches will hand out jerseys before the first meet.
