2/6 update

Redhawks,

We had a very strong performance at the Oval on Friday night, with multiple PRs or SBs. Lydia and Liliana both closed their final laps as their fastest to run very impressive marks, and Liliana repeated her strong finish in the 3200. Eden went sub 6 in the mile after missing months with injury and followed it up with a strong 800m. We had several guys go sub 5 in the mile, including Trevor, Simon, Bennett, and Andrew - who now has the 2nd fastest mile time ever run indoors at Bountiful High.

Well done to our multiple event runners, Lily, Elijah, Tobin, Eden, Bennett, Elle, and Hayden (if I missed any, I'm sorry). Doing multiple events is an important step on the path to improvement, and something we will need to get used to. Thanks to all of you who were able to come and compete and support. We had a lot of fun hanging out and watching you race. (RIP the ball).

Practices after school this week will be on Monday/Wednesday.

We have one indoor meet remaining, once again at the Olympic Oval. You can find the schedule, registration, and the waiver that needs to be singed here. Registration online will close on WEDNESDAY. However, there is in person registration, but the cost is much higher and won't get you into a heat of like-timed runners.

In an ideal situation, for our distance runners, I recommend coming on Friday and running the mile and 4x800 (which I will need to register and pay for, so I'll need to know soon who would like to race it. Please reply if you'd like to run in a 4x800). Then, if possible, going again on Saturday for the 3200m or the 800m. It would leave you with a full weekend, but one that would get you ready for the final stretch of the year.

On Friday the meet will begin at 4PM and go until it's over, which will be similar to this weeks time, but quite possibly a bit earlier. On Friday, the 800 would probably be in the late morning, and the 3200 will most likely be contested in the early/mid afternoon. There will be 1,000,052 (slight exaggeration) heats of the 200m, so it takes a while. Once all the registrations are complete on Thursday morning I can try to estimate start times a little better.

If you have any questions please let me know. Looking forward to another great week.
